Would you like to work remotely with Google? I’ve got good news: there are lots of money-making opportunities and work at home jobs with Google!
In my opinion, there are two companies that are significantly changing the landscape in how we do things, one being Amazon and the other being Google.
Just think back to when you had to purchase a license to download Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to your computer. Nowadays, everyone uses Google Docs for these functions, and it’s completely free! My guess is that you use Google (search, analytics, Chrome, docs, calendar, maps, fiber, and YouTube) in some shape or form every single day.
With Google having its hand in almost every aspect of your digital life, it’s no surprise that it needs a massive workforce to continue with its innovations and dominance in the tech sector. Here are nine legit work at home jobs with Google.
1. Google Ads Quality Rater
Search engines, like Google and Bing, hire individuals to work from home, reviewing the relevancy of online ads compared to the keywords entered in the search query. While Google has sophisticated algorithms to properly place ads with the correct keywords, they also employ humans to double-check that these keywords and ads are relevant.
Ad Raters are not hired directly through Google but, instead, through contracted companies like Appen, TELUS International, and Teemwork.ai hires for Bing. These positions require a high school diploma or GED, a familiarity with sites like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Gmail, and a computer, laptop, or smartphone. According to this post on Glassdoor.com, Ad Rates earn an average of $25 per hour.
One thing to note about these positions is they are independent contracting roles, which means you’re responsible for paying self-employment taxes, but you’ll have a flexible schedule.
2. Blogger Using Google AdSense
Okay, this technically isn’t a job with Google, but it is a way for bloggers to make money by installing Google advertisements on their websites. In fact, when I first started blogging, I applied to the AdSense program and was able to make a little extra money each month from it. To qualify for Google’s AdSense program, you’ll need to purchase your domain name and hosting, create some original and high-quality content, have a privacy policy and other standard pages, and be at least 18 years of age.
If you haven’t started your blog yet, never fear; I have a simple step-by-step tutorial to walk you through the process.
Once you have your blog up and running and you’ve written a few blog posts, check out my friend Joseph Hogue’s YouTube video, How to Make $100 a Day with Adsense.
3. Google Certified Publisher – Raptive
Again, not a job per se, but an excellent opportunity to make money from a Google Certified Publisher, Raptive (formerly AdThrive). I’ve been working with Raptive since 2015, and they are amazing! I never really thought I could earn a good amount from an ad network, but was I wrong. Today, my ad revenue makes up about a third of my blogging income.
With Raptive, you have to apply to the program, and you must meet the following requirements:
- 100,000 page views a month
- The majority of your traffic comes from the USA, Canada, the UK, Australia, or New Zealand
- 100% original, high-quality content
- Must have Google Analytics installed on your site
Once approved, Raptive will develop an ad strategy for your site, and they will place, monitor, and optimize your ads for the highest earnings possible.
Of course, Raptive isn’t the only Google Certified Publisher; here is a list of other Certified Google Publishing Partners.
4. YouTube Video Creator
In November of 2006, Google acquired the popular video site YouTube, and what a crazy smart move! Today, YouTube is the second most popular website, only second to Google itself. If you’re into video creation, you can make insane amounts of money being a YouTube Video Publisher. Like blogging, you’ll need to create original video content and upload it to YouTube.
To start earning money from your videos with AdSense, you’ll need to meet the following minimum qualifications:
- Have more than 1,000 subscribers
- Over 4,000 watch hours in the last 12 months
- Be compliant with the YouTube Partner Program policies
The neat thing about making money on YouTube is that you don’t have to invest any money upfront. You can begin as long as you have an internet connection and a smartphone with a video camera. Stars like Justin Bieber and Carly Rae Jepsen got their start on YouTube!
Like blogging, you can monetize your channel with various methods, such as affiliate marketing, product and merch sales, and sponsorships. Also, you don’t need a degree or a certain number of years of experience. If you have the drive and passion for creating video content, this can be a lucrative and fun way to work from home with Google!
5. Search Engine Evaluator
Another way to work online for Google and make money is by becoming a Search Engine Evaluator. Much like the Ad Rater position, in this role, you’ll evaluate search engine results to ensure that the results are relevant and of high quality. You can find these jobs on Appen, TELUS International, and Teemwork.ai (which works for Bing).
According to this post from FlexJobs, Search Engine Evaluators earn an average of $17 per hour as independent contractors. Much like the Ad Rater positions, you’ll need to be familiar with search engine results, Google products and be able to navigate your way around the web.
6. Google User Experience Research
If you love Google products and features, Google User Experience Research can be a fun way to earn small rewards. Just sign up as a participant, and when studies that match your profile come available, you’ll be sent an invitation and what the reward is to participate. Research studies are conducted in different locales, including their traveling van, their home offices, online, or even at your home! Rewards are generally gift cards fro major retailers and Visa. If you try this one, I’d love to hear how it goes for you!
7. Google Opinion Rewards
Another way to give your thoughts on products and services is by downloading the Google Opinion Rewards App (available for Android and Apple devices). For each survey you take, you earn a small stipend that you can withdraw for cash via PayPal or Google Play credits. You won’t make a lot of money with this app, but it is an easy and legit way to add a little extra cash to your wallet.

8. Professional Work at Home Jobs with Google
Google has in-person and remote jobs, and they hire from around the world. When you search for these jobs on their site, add your location and check the remote-eligible job filters.
These jobs generally require prior experience and a bachelor’s degree; however, they do have openings for interns who are pursuing a degree. In some positions, they accept equivalent practical experience in lieu of a degree. With Google owning YouTube, Fitbit, GFiber, Waymo, Google Cloud, and more, there are positions in almost every field and occupation.
Here are some categories of remote positions with Google:
- Engineering and Technology
- Marketing and Communications
- Business Strategy
- Legal
- Facilities
- Sales, Service, and Support
- Design
- Finance
- People
The great thing about these Google jobs is they come with extensive benefits! Things like health and wellness, financial well-being, flexibility and time off, family support and care, community and personal development, as well as extras like resources to support your growth, productivity, and well-being.

9. Become a Google Certified Consultant
If you’re well versed in Google Analytics, search engine optimization (SEO), or AdWords, you can become Google Certified in one of these areas and provide consulting services from home by starting your own business. If this sounds like a fun route, this post explains how to get certified.

Watch Out For Work at Home Scams
While there are many legitimate Google careers, you need to be aware of scammers promoting fake opportunities using Google’s name.
Not too long ago, one company was promoting a deceptive opportunity called Easy Google Profit, which had nothing to do with Google. It was some scheme where you had to pay money upfront for some vague information.
Ensure that you’re always doing your due diligence when researching work from home jobs. My Work From Home Career Planner can help you avoid scams and find legitimate work at home opportunities quicker.

Almost ditto to geri’s post. I was a Respiratory therapist in Ca for almost 15yrs before I had to leave the career due to family issues. I’ve been trying to find a remote job that can produce a reliable income stream. I’ve tried to find so many of these jobs that I’ve even been the receiving end of the remote work scams, 3 of them now. Are there still any actual remote jobs out there for someone who is a hard worker and who is educated and reliable without getting ripped off or scammed? please help!!!
Holly Reisem Hanna
Hi Angie,
I’m sorry that you’ve been scammed, that’s awful.
I always suggest reading reviews on Glassdoor.com and going to the company’s website to find out if they are really hiring. There are so many imposter scams on big career sites.
I’ve not seen any remote jobs for respiratory therapists, however, there may be some out there that I’m not aware of. Off the top of my head, here are some roles you may qualify for: medical writer, medical sales, healthcare recruiter, case manager, clinical research coordinator, and online asthma instructor. CVS, Cigna, UnitedHealth Group, and Humana have a ton of remote jobs — I’d start searching there first.
You can also write down all your skills and use a site like Robert Half to search for by skills instead of occupation and see what pops up that you’re qualified for.
If you have other questions, let me know.
